TRADING STATEMENT
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Securities Exchange South
Africa ("JSE") a listed company is required to publish a trading statement as
soon as it becomes aware that the financial results for the next period to be
reported on will differ by at least 20% or more from those of the previous
corresponding period.
Buildmax is expecting an increase of between 150% and 170% in earnings per share
and an increase of between 145% and 165% in headline earnings per share for the
interim period ended 30 September 2004 ("the interim results") compared to that
of the comparative period.
The information in this trading statement has not been reviewed or reported on
by Buildmax's auditors. The interim results announcement is expected to be
published on or about 27 October 2004.
